Welcome to MariNet, the social media platform exclusively for Marianapolis College students. Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before using our platform.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using MariNet, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to all the terms and conditions, you may not access or use our platform.

2. Eligibility

MariNet is exclusively available to current students of Marianapolis College in Quebec, Canada. You must have a valid email address to register. By using MariNet, you represent and warrant that you are a current student at Marianapolis College.

3. User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account information and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during the registration process.

4. User Conduct

When using MariNet, you agree not to:

  • Post content that violates Marianapolis College's code of conduct
  • Share content that is discriminatory, harassing, or bullying
  • Post sexually explicit or violent content
  • Share personal information of other students without their consent
  • Use MariNet for any illegal purposes
  • Create multiple accounts or impersonate others
  • Interfere with or disrupt the platform or servers
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the platform
  • Transmit any viruses, worms, or other malicious code

5. Content Policy

You retain ownership of the content you post on MariNet. However, by posting content, you grant MariNet a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute your content on the platform. You are responsible for ensuring that you have the right to share any content you post.

6. Community Guidelines

MariNet aims to foster a positive and inclusive community for Marianapolis College students. All interactions should respect the diversity and dignity of our college community. Content that violates these guidelines may be removed, and repeated violations may result in account suspension or termination.

7. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy governs the collection, use, and sharing of your information. By using MariNet, you consent to our data practices as described in our Privacy Policy. We respect your privacy and will only use your information to provide and improve the platform.

8. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of MariNet, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, and software, are owned by MariNet or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works of, publicly display, or use any content from our platform without prior written consent.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Quebec law, MariNet shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from your access to or use of or inability to access or use the platform.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. MariNet expressly disclaims all warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

11. Account Termination

MariNet reserves the right to terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including breach of these Terms or if you are no longer a student at Marianapolis College. Upon graduation or leaving the college, you will have 30 days to download your content before your account is deactivated.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Quebec, Canada, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

13. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of any material changes by posting the updated Terms on our platform and sending a notification to your Marianapolis email address. Your continued use of the platform after such modifications constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. Language

In accordance with Quebec law, these Terms and Conditions are available in both English and French. The English and French versions are equally authoritative. In case of any discrepancy between the two versions, the French version shall prevail.
